All submissions must be original works. •“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” •“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” •“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?’” •“We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.” •“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” The contest is open to all ages with one winner per age category. Winners will receive a $50 gift card or a donation to a non-profit charity of their choice. Entries may be submitted online at SafetyHarborLibrary.com or in person at the library. He was the driving force behind major historical events that lead to the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and is remembered each year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. For more information, please call 724-1525 x 4112 or visit SafetyHarborLibrary.com.
